My inspiration comes from the silent contrast between exaltation, love and indifference, the space between the sacred and profane. My themes are inspired by popular anecdotes, history and paradoxes in daily life. I use symbols associated with Mexican popular culture and mystical elements clearly permeate much of my work.

Every creation is a battle in which all my senses go alert. The moment turns sensitive and I become vulnerable, get personal with everything and lose objectivity. Only by trusting my experience, am I capable of going on.

I succeed when my painting lies on my easel and I observe it without a burning desire to change anything—when I look at it and feel cheer in my soul and a buzz in my brain. My painting has transformed into a celebration of life
